The Global and Underserved Medicine (GUM) club provides students opportunities to reach out to both local and international communities through volunteering and education. The club hopes to serve as a platform for students to inspire others and take these qualities beyond their time at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and into their careers, producing a more empathetic and well-rounded future physician.

GUM club has offered the following services:
– Guest speakers on topics regarding all aspects of underserved medicine
– Community service (including virtual opportunities)
– Fundraising both for community organizations and club trips
– Medical Service Trip (previously to Columbia, India, and most recently Costa Rica)
